Getting Started

Firstly, it is important to sign up for a Google Workspace Plan if you wish to record your Google Meet calls. You need at least the Business Standard plan ($12/month) to unlock this feature.

Note: Remember that you can only record Google Meet calls using your computer.

How to Find Google Meet Recordings on Google Drive

When your meeting ends, the recording is automatically saved to Google Drive, under your ‘Meet Recordings’ folder. Here’s how you can find your recorded video:

  1. Go to Google Drive and sign in to your Google account.
  2. Click ‘Go to Drive’.
  3. On the left panel, click ‘My Drive’ then select the folder entitled ‘Meet Recordings’
  4. Locate the recording, click the three-dotted icon (⋮) then select ‘Download’ to save it on your computer.

How to Share a Recording from Google Drive

  1. Go to Google Drive and sign in to your Google account.
  2. Locate the recording that you wish to share.
  3. Click the three-dotted icon (⋮) then select ‘Share’.
  4. Enter the email addresses of the people you want to share the recording with.
  5. Hit ‘Done’.

How to Find Google Meet Recordings on Google Calendar Event

You can access the recording directly from the Google Calendar event if you were a Google Meet participant and work for the same organization as the host. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your Google account and go to Google Calendar.
  2. Locate and open the Google Calendar event.
  3. Click the file attachment to view the recording in a new tab.

How to Find Google Meet Recordings via Email Inbox

If you are the meeting organizer or initiated the recording, you will receive an email with the recording link. It has meeting id and the text "The recording has been uploaded".

  2. Click ‘Open in Drive’ then hit the play button.
  3. If you wish to download the file, click the download icon on the upper right side of the screen.

Troubleshooting Issues with Google Meet Recordings

Why can’t I find my recordings on Google Drive?

According to Google, it can take up to 24 hours for a recording to be processed depending on how long it is. If you cannot locate your recording, we suggest checking back after a few hours.

  1. Go to Google Drive.
  2. Choose the recording file and select ‘Share’.
  3. Click ‘Advanced’ on the bottom right.
  4. Uncheck "Disable options to download, print, and copy for commenters and viewers".
  5. Click ‘Save Changes’ then ‘Done’.
